Three women face the apocalypse.

Gina, Lucy, and Journey just spent three weeks exploring the wilds of the Idaho mountains on horseback. They return to their vehicle to find it won't start. Unable to contact anyone by cell phone, they're forced to ride out to find help.

The only living person they find warns them against continuing their quest for assistance. He tells of rioting, gangs, and people killing other people. He suggests they run as far and as fast as they can, away from what was left of civilization.

Afraid for their lives, they return to the mountains, knowing their chances of survival against mother nature are far better than their chances on what used to be civilization.

Beyond the New Horizon Book 1
Beyond the New Horizon: Desperate Times, Book Two
Beyond the New Horizon: Living on the Edge Book Three

Beyond the New Horizon: Dark Times, Book Four (Oct. 31)

Good stories with good characters, and from a woman’s perspective. I’d have rated these 5 stars except the typos, misspellings and continuity errors (name changes and wrong characters) as well as them being over-comma’d, reduced these to 4 stars (books 1 and 2) and 3.5 stars (book 3).

If it were an electronic copy, I’d have removed ALL the commas and added back in the 5-10% that were really needed. When a sentence begins with a persons name, it is not necessary to follow it with a comma!

The author also used singular possessives instead of plurals, in almost every case. Many incorrect words were used and very many missing quotation marks. Also, because of the weak writing, it is sometimes difficult to know who is speaking.

Oddly, we don't know, until book 3, where the action takes place. But both Montana and Idaho are named.
Yet, in spite of these errors, the characters are good, there’s lots of action, and I’ve already pre-ordered book 4.

Beyond the New Horizon A PostApocalyptic Novel Book One eBook Christine Conaway Reviews

Loved christines writing. She keeps you on edge waiting for what’s up next. Looking forward to book two in the series.
Loved it... I truly enjoy reading Christine Conaway's books... this one takes you on an adventure.. and a lot of what would you do... I can't wait for the next book.. easy, exciting read..
I had some issues with the book. The writing was uneven and there were mistakes (misspelling Gina as Gena etc). In the beginning of the book she talked about 2 of the characters going to medical school yet it appears they were both actually nurses. I'm not sure about the science of having an earthquake that would completely shift a mountain range in one day, but I'm pretty sure that anyone in the vicinity would not have survived that. Still, I actually liked the characters and may read the next book to see what happens.
You had me with the concept of the world changing while on an extended camping trip in the mountains. And, the CME was a perfect way to do it. But adding the volcanoes and earthquakes on top of the CME was maybe too much. Still though, as always, I love your characters and will be back for more!
This was an excellent story. Well written and researched. Very good start to the series. Cannot wait to read more
I cant wait for the second book of the series. I just hope it doesn't take forever. Sometimes when it takes a long time for the next book to come out I tend to forget about it. Please hurry!
Really enjoyed the first novel of this series. The book kept building and building in intensity. It seemed like everything tied in so good. The characters all seemed so real and believable. People that are so much like people in your own life. Just regular people who end up in a bad situation through no fault of their own.

This book was good enough to buy the next one in the series. Which I have just done and I need to start reading. Enjoy, I did.
