For the sake of his parents, Kye accepted a 'service contract' several years ago under Marquis Barrett. I agree with the other reviewer, Ryan's books can be very dark at the beginning, but I think that's why I like her books so much. The main character grows throughout the book and becomes stronger after their initial adversity. The author writes such a good story that even though it's over 400 pages, when you're done it seems like it took no time at all. I would recommend Tears of the Neko, if this is your first book by Taylor Ryan.Product details

I really enjoyed this amazing story. Ash and Kye are wonderful characters who totally captivated me from the beginning. Kye's life has been so difficult and pain filled since he was contracted to his master. When he has to make a choice between obeying his master and saving a nobleman, he life changes dramatically. Well-written and emotional, a fascinating and beautiful story!
I really enjoy books where the main character has a tortured "literally" past, but a happy ending. If you like these types of storirs as well tuen you will enjoy this. )
This was a very intriguing and uplifting story of overcoming difficult odds thrown at you in life. I will definitely be reading again. I'm only giving 4 stars because there were some editing flaws, but nothing that detracts too much from the story itself.
Highly recommend this book! Wasn't too sure from the cover art, but this book is well written, engaging, and is an emotional roller coaster. Definitely will be reread many times.
Captured my attention from the first sentence and did not let go until I have finished the entire story, took me the whole night to finish it and it was worth the lack of sleep the next day. A heart breaking and wonderful story about a young man named Kye, his tortured past and his journey to love and acceptance. Love Taylor Ryan's stories and look forward to reading more.
It was an amazing book. Kye was a broken but strong man. He suffered so much, so seeing how Ash’s love help me overcome his past was amazing. I liked also the ways it was written, which gave me the chance the see other people’s reactions to the torture Kye went through. I totally recommend this book, its money worth spent.
This author often has a sort of horrible beginning to her books, with a lot of graphic sexual violence, but once you get past that part the rest is very good and entertaining. I actually really like her books, but I took off a star for the nasty bits. However, moving on, I have to say I have read the last three-quarters of this book several times and I like it just as well as her other books. I wouldn't mind if this series continues, perhaps in a lighter vein... I would buy them.
